摘 要:叶培大(1915-2011)被国际通信界誉为"中国光纤之父",他为新中国微波通信和光纤通信技术的发展做出了卓越贡献:于1955年主持研制微波收发信机,1958年与中科院合作研究"毫米波圆波导H01通信系统",文革期间参加960路微波中继II型机的研制;之后转向光纤通信领域,在国内首次研制成功相干光纤通信试验系统,以及一批关键器件,其专著《光纤理论》是国内第一本关于光纤研究的学术专著;叶培大是"通信战略科学家",曾建议国家"863"计划增设通信高技术研究主题,担任国务院信息化领导小组专家组组长。叶培大坚持"学以致用"、"教学与科研结合"和"执著出奇、团结致胜"的治学思想,是北京邮电学院的创始人之一,曾长期担任学校负责人,他注重学术交流,搭建了与国际学术交流的桥梁。Ye Peida (1915-2011) is referred to as Father of Optical Telecommunications in China by counterparts of international communications. He made remarkable contributions to the development of Chinese microwave communications and optical communications. In 1955, he hosted the research programon microwave communication; and in 1958, he conductedsuccessfully the research work on Metallic Circular Wave-guide H01 Transmission System with CAS. Histreatise Theory of Optical Fiber is the first academic monograph about optical fibers in China. Ye Peida is also a strategic scientist of communications. He suggested that a research theme on communication high-technology should be added in National 863 Plan of China, and was a group leader of experts in Informatization Leading Group of the State Council. Besides, Ye Peida is an educationist.As one of the founders of BUPT, he haslong stressed the idea of learning for practice and combining teaching and learning with scientific research. He attached importance to scientific exchanges, and built a bridge for international academic communications.
