摘　　要：莫灵元小说《父亲和树》以独特的艺术风格与文学表达而颇具审美意味。作品描绘了"父亲"、"榕树"两个核心意象,以及"儿子"、"祖屋"、"百年未遇的大水"等其他意象,这些意象蕴藉深沉,既悬浮于现实之上又时时映照现实。作品巧妙地借助于文学意象的虚幻性与象征性,个性地呈现了转型期"父"与"子"两代人对于精神家园的两种不同的选择态度——即"守望"与"背离"的心理情势,并因此表达了作家深沉的悲悯情怀。Mo Lingyuan＇s novel, Father and Tree, is distinguished with a unique literary style and artistic expression and esthetic meaning. It depicts two main images： father and banyan, and other images： son, ancestral home, and great flood. Through the illusiveness and symbolism of literary images, this novel presents two choosing attitudes towards the spiritual homeland of two generations, father and son in the transitional period, which is the psychological situation of watching and departing and expresses the writer＇s deep feelings of compassion.
