The interaction between ammonium perchlorate ammonia(AP) and hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane(HNIW) in mixed systems was investigated by studying thermal decomposition behaviors of AP/HNIW mixed systems and using differential scanning calorimetry-thermogravimetry(DSC-TG) synchronous thermal analysis method and thermogravimetry-infrared(TG-FTIR) combined technique. The thermal decomposition kinetic parameters of AP/HNIW mixed systems were calculated by using Kissinger method. The results show that the HNIW in mixed systems with different ratios all promotes the thermal decomposition of AP at high temperature, the decomposition peak of AP changes from two to one, and the decomposition peak temperature increases to 288 ℃ or 285 ℃. Such promotion has no significant correlation with the mass ratio of AP and HNIW(1:1 and 2:1). The thermal decomposition of HNIW and AP in mixed systems is violent, and the decomposition reaction is complete. The gaseous products mainly include N2 O, NO, NO2, CO2 and HCOOH. The apparent decomposition activation energy of HNIW is increased by 51 k J/mol by AP in mixed systems in comparison with single system, and HNIW has no significant influence on the decomposition activation energy of AP at low temperature.
