语料库文体学视域下的英文商务合同研究

摘　　要：语料库文体学是文体学与语料库语言学相结合而新兴的交叉学科。在过去的十多年间,语料库文体学主要聚焦于文学作品研究,文学文本之外的研究尚不多见。本文通过对英文商务合同文体特征的定量统计与定性分析,探索在语料库文体学视域下开展商务话语研究的有效途径。研究发现,英文商务合同除了包含大量专业性词汇、古体词、书卷词、并列词语、情态动词、程式化套语外,句子结构也较为复杂,平均句长明显超过较为正式的学术文本且有更大的变异性,是比一般正式文体更为庄重的文体。Corpus stylistics,as a new interdisciplinary subject emerging from the integration of stylistics and corpus linguistics,has been focusing on the style of literary texts over the past decade. The present paper aims to using corpus techniques to explore the stylistic characteristics of English for business contracts in order to find a feasible path to investigate business discourse from the perspective of corpus stylistics. The results show that English for business contracts is characterized not only by technical terms,literary and archaic words,juxtaposition,modal words,and formulaic expressions,but also by its sentences of complex syntactic structure,which,though with more variations,are on average longer than those in learned texts,indicating that the style of English for business contracts is close to the frozen one.
