摘　　要：【歌剧内容】彼得·格莱姆斯是一个性格孤僻的渔民,他的徒弟和他一起出海捕鱼不幸死亡,但村民们却并不相信他,只有中年寡妇艾伦对他表示了关心。彼得·格莱姆斯又收了一个徒弟,一天,暴风雨降临,他不顾暴风雨坚持带徒弟出海。在黑暗中,徒弟不幸失足掉下悬崖而死。村民认为一定是彼得·格莱姆斯杀害了他。三天后,精疲力竭的彼得·格莱姆斯从海上回来,这时村民们围了上来,彼得·格莱姆斯唯一的好友巴尔斯特罗德船长建议他再一次出海,连人和船一起沉没。彼得·格莱姆斯照办,全村又恢复了平静。Benjamin Britten was a composer with a strong literary bent,having collaborated with such giants as William Auden and E.M.Forster,also setting Shakespeare and French poet Rimbaud's into music.Usually his works involved all kinds of contradictions:reflecting kindness and wickedness,beauty and ugliness,also addressing a variety of social problems.In 1945,Britten's first opera Peter Grimes premiered in London with immediate success,establishing Britten's stature in the music world for its sense of drama and creation of the atmosphere of a seaside town.His Four Sea Interludes has since been a popular concert work.
