Objective:To observe the effects of acupuncture on SHR blood pressure, and research the mechanisms from the perspective of antioxidant enzymes.Method:To separate the SHRs into acupuncture group and model group randomly,WKYs as normal blood pressure controlled group. To acupuncture group, acupuncture with the twirling manipulation,frequency120-160/min,lasting 1min.Model group and normal group were treated by the same crawl stimulation. The systolic pressure was measured before and after the treatment every day. After 20 days of treatment, all the rats were decapitated and got the thoracic aorta. The activity of SOD and GSH-7PX was measured by xanthine oxidase colorimetric method and chemical colorimetry. Results:After 20 days acupuncture,in acupuncture group, the both systolic and diastolic blood pressure of SHR were lower than before, and lower than model. The activity of SOD and GSH-PX in acupuncture were rising trend compared with model group. Conclusion:Acupuncture can reduce SHR systolic and diastolic blood pressure and its mechanisms may be related to improve the activity of SOD and GSH-PX,thus enhance the antioxidant capacity.
