摘　　要：在《榆树下的欲望》中,奥尼尔运用心理分析学中的创伤理论探讨新时代背景下的人类悲剧,揭示现代人灵魂深处的欲望、罪孽产生的根源,将裹着希腊悲剧外衣的现代美国悲剧演变为各式人物在自身创伤驱使下心理不断变化发展的结果,从而表达了他对人性、罪与罚、救赎的思考。In Desire Under the Elms, O＇Neill perfectly uses trauma theory, a small branch of modern psychological analysis, to explore human tragedy in the context of a new era, revealing the real root of human desire and sins, changing the modern American tragedy covered in Greek mythology into the definite consequence of the development of distorted mind driven by humans＂ inner trauma, reflecting modern thought of humanity, sins and redemption, and salvation.
