从原工业化到工业化和城市化——以西莱丁毛纺业为例

摘　　要：西莱丁地区是近代早期英国三大毛纺区之一。18、19世纪,兴旺的西莱丁毛纺业将英国这一民族工业推到了发展顶点。英国工业革命是从棉纺业开始的,但西莱丁毛纺业在原工业化的基础上较早地应用了近代工业技术,在原有手工工场制度上成功地对接工厂制。西莱丁是英国工业革命的重要地区之一,也是仅次于兰开夏的工厂纺织业中心,并快速推动了本地区的城市化和人口非农业化。西莱丁毛纺区与兰开夏棉纺区、西密德兰"黑乡"铁工业区及南约克郡"哈兰姆郡"钢铁工业区一道,从18世纪后期起共同构成了著名的英格兰西北工业区,从而为崭新的工业时代鸣锣开道。West Riding was one of the three important wool textile industry regions in early modern England. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the thriving textile industry of West Riding put the so-called national industry to a peak of development. Although the British Industrial Revolution started from the cotton industry, but the West Riding woolens industry not only contributed a lot to the revolution of cotton industry, but also followed it by application of modem industrial technology earlier and rooted successfully the factory system on the base of original manufactory. Therefore,West Riding was one of the important areas of the British Industrial Revolution, the second center of machine textile industry after Lancashire and it promoted the local urbanization and population non-agricultured. In short, West Riding is one successful area from proto- industrialization towards industrialization and urbanization.
