摘　　要：Central topics included unconventional end-uses and applications from fiber and filament innovations as well as bio-polymers, functionalisation and adaption of fibers and surfaces, nonwovens/filtration, environment and health and, last but not least, advanced fiber and processing technology.The 54th Dornbirn Man-Made Fibers Congress took place on September 16 to 18 in Austria.More than700 participants from 32 nations were attending the conference.They represented about 250 institutes and companies from the upstream raw material business,chemical and equipment suppliers all the way to a significant number of retailers and brands.Central topics included unconventional end-uses and applications from fiber and filament innovations as
