词义推测方式下例句语境对英语词汇习得的影响

摘  要:词义推测是外语学习中不可或缺的环节。以信息加工理论为依据,采用问卷、实验、测试和访谈等方式,探索在词义推测条件下两种例句(教师设计的例句和基于词典的例句)对二语词汇习得的影响。结果表明:在词义推测方式下,例句语境对英语词汇知识短时记忆的影响没有显著差异;但对长时记忆的影响有显著差异。Inferring word meanings is one of the necessary processes in learning vocabulary. The present paper examines the effects of two types of example sentences( teacher- designed example sentence and dictionary- based example sentence) on vocabulary retention under the framework of information processing model by using questionnaire,teaching experiment,tests( immediate and delayed tests) and retrospective interviews. It is found that teacher- designed example sentence,which is designed based on learners' experience,has a significantly positive effect on vocabulary retention in the delayed posttest,but not in the immediate test.
