摘 要:机器类通信MTC作为物联网应用的底层无线传输技术,在现有2G/3G/4G蜂窝通信网的基础上针对特定业务进行了专项优化,而终端的功耗优化是其重要改善方向之一。基于当前广泛使用的2G GERAN系统,概述了MTC终端待机下寻呼监听的主要能耗行为,通过引入寻呼周期扩展的机制来降低终端能耗,介绍了两种具体的实现方式和对现行技术规范的影响,同时分析了寻呼周期扩展机制的应用前提和应用范畴,并总结了其技术实现的优点。Machine Type Communication,acting as the basic technology of Internet of Things,optimizes the current2G/3G/4G cellular networks regarding to specific application features.Meanwhile,UE power consumption becomes one of the essential improvement directions.This article,generally based on the widely used 2G GERAN system,briefly describes the major power consumption behavior of UE in Idle state,which should be paging monitoring,and introduces a paging cycle extension mechanism to lower the monitoring frequency with the purpose of UE power saving,then specifies the two potential realizations and their impacts towards current technical specifications followed with a detailed analysis of the pre-conditions and application scopes,and finally summarizes advantages of the technical implementation.
