摘　　要：17世纪巴罗克时期,西欧各国纷纷从古罗马的政治实践和理论中学习如何在复杂的权力斗争中取胜。古罗马哲学家塞内加的谨慎处事原则与历史学家塔西佗的阴险暴力手段互为补充,结合成新斯多葛主义政治学,流行于詹姆士一世统治下的英格兰王宫之中。《白魔》诠释了新斯多葛主义政治理论,在政治氛围和角色功能上,与当时英格兰王宫塞内加—塔西佗政治基本对应,而剧中新斯多葛主义意识形态预示了早期斯图亚特英格兰王宫中更多的派系斗争和潜在的内战威胁,对稳定王权具有极大的破坏作用。In the Baroque age of the 17th century, western European countries began to learn from ancient Rome the political theory and practice concerning how to win over the others in the political power struggles. The principle of acting prudently proposed by Seneca and the serpentine violent means advocated by Tacitus supplemented each other and combined into Neostoicism, prevalently popular in the court of James I. The White Devil elucidates the Neo-stoicism, corresponding with SenecaTacitus politics of English royal court in political atmosphere and role functions, and predicting more faction struggles and potential threats of civil war.
