摘  要:挠曲电效应(Flexoelectric Effect)是指液晶分子在外电场的作用下,由于展曲/弯曲形变而导致的液晶分子自极化,并表现出宏观电偶极矩的现象。ADS模式液晶显示面板在开机工作初,由于挠曲电效应从而产生闪烁漂移(Flicker Shift)的现象。本文从挠曲电效应的产生机理出发,结合试验结果,讨论了灰阶电压大小及灰阶电压对称性对闪烁漂移程度、速率的影响;当闪烁漂移达到稳定后,面板的实际公共电极电压(Vcom)偏移程度变化。结果发现,随着灰阶电压的升高,闪烁漂移程度会随着挠曲电效应的增强而加重,面板内Vcom电压偏移量也随之增加,而改变灰阶电压的对称性可在一定程度上增强或抵消自极化效应带来的Flicker漂移和Vcom电压偏移。利用该结果可一定程度上改善面板的显示特性。Flexoelectric effect refers to the spontaneous polarization of LC molecules caused by splay/ bend deformation while they are under the action of external electrical field. It would make the LC molecules show electric dipole moment which may produce DC offset in ADS (advanced super dimension switch) panels. The experiment result shows that flicker shift would happen because of flexoelectric effect when the ADS mode panel started to work. This paper investigated how the gray scale voltage and the gray scale voltage symmetry influenced the flicker shift of ADS panel based on the mechanism of flexoelectric effect and experiment result. The flicker shift includes two aspects, shift rate and degree, as well as the voltage of common electrode (V ) deviation. The result indicates that the flicker shift and Voom deviation would intensify with the increase of gray scale voltage. And also the change of gray scale symmetry may enhance or relieve flicker shift and Vcom deviation caused by flexoelectric effect. In this way we may relieve the flicker shift and Vcom deviation in ADS panel so that the display performance could be improved.
