摘　　要：中华基督教妇女节制协会于1920年在上海成立,为世界基督教妇女节制协会的分支。该会深受美国妇女运动影响,承继基督教义中的"节制"理念与纯洁妇女意识,试图通过开展禁止烟酒、兴办慈善和倡导母教三项工作来表达女性诉求,进入公共领域,建立中国女性独特的性别空间。近代民族主义深刻影响了妇女节制协会的活动理念,在其话语体系中妇女的性别属性被赋予高度的政治意涵和鲜明的工具性意义。妇女节制协会的理念和活动既彰显了基督教知识女性的独特追求,也透视出了女性在近代中国社会中的尴尬处境。Chinese Women＇s Christian Temperance Union was established in Shanghai in 1920 and it was a branch of the World Women＇s Christian Temperance Union. What the union had upheld is the Christian doctrine of the ＂temperance＂ philosophy. The union use ＂temperance＂ and t^ue motherhood to direct its works, like the abstinence of alcohol and tobacco, charity works and motherhood propagation. The nationalism had an important impact on the works. From the philosophy and the works of the union, we can find out what the Christian women really pursue. Meantime, it reflects the embarrassing social status of the women in modern China.
