摘　　要：萍乡煤炭储量丰富、品位高,开采历史悠久。盛宣怀接手汉阳铁厂后,为解决燃料匮乏的问题,决定使用机器大规模开采萍乡煤矿。由于有官办的背景,盛宣怀及汉阳铁厂在进驻萍矿、扩张矿权、减免税厘、军事保护方面均获得了江西地方政府和晚清政府一定的支持,推动了萍矿的开发,促进了汉冶萍公司的发展。Pingxiang Coal Mine has the features such as rich reserves, high grade and long history of mining. After Sheng Xuanhuai （1844-1916）, official merchant and entrepreneur in late Qing Dynasty, took over Hanyeping Iron Company, he decided to exploit Pingxiang Coal Mine on large scale by machine to solve the problem of fuel shortage. As an official merchant, Sheng Xuanhuai and Hanyeping Iron Company obtained the support of local authorities in Jiangxi Province and late Qing Government in terms of mining right and expansion of Pingxiang Coal Mine, tax waiving and military protection, which promoted the development of Pingxiang Coal Mine and Hanyeping Company.
