健康对农民劳动参与的影响:基于CHNS数据的实证研究

摘　　要：农民是否参与劳动是促进农民收入增加和福利水平提高的前提,在城乡二元经济结构背景下,对农民劳动参与行为影响因素的研究具有重要的现实意义。基于中国健康与营养调查(CHNS)1989-2011年的面板数据,采用Probit模型,分析身高、身体质量指数、热量摄入等衡量的长、中、短期健康状况对农民劳动参与的影响,探讨健康的劳动参与效应。结果表明,健康是农民劳动参与的重要决定因素。其中,身高和热量摄入对农民的劳动参与有显著正向影响,每增加1 cm的身高和1%k J的日均热量摄入,农民的劳动参与概率会分别提高0.07%和4.85%。身体质量指数对农民的劳动参与有显著负向影响,超重和肥胖会使农民的劳动参与概率分别降低1.44%和2.27%。因此,应采取有效措施改善农民的健康状况,这不仅有利于提高农民的劳动参与率,也是促进农民增收从而实现城乡统筹发展的可行路径之一。Farmers＇ participation in the production activities is the precondition for increasing farmers＇ income and welfare level. Under the dual structure of Chinese urban-rural society, research on the influencing factors of farmers＇ production participation behavior has very important practical significance. Based on the China Health and Nutrition Survey （CHNS） panel data t^om 1989 to 2011 and applying the Probit model, this paper analyzes the long, medium and short-term health effects on farmers＇ participation in production activities. Health are evaluated by farmers＇ height, body mass index, and calorie intake. Empirical results show that health has a significant influence on farmers＇ participation in production activities. Height and calorie intake have significant positive influences： a one centimeter increase of height and 1% kJ of daily calorie intake can increase farmers＇ participation probability by 0.07% and 4.85% respectively. Body mass index has a significant negative influence： overweight and obesity can reduce the probability of farmers＇ participation in production activities by 1.44% and 2.27% respectively. Therefore, the government should take effective measures to improve farmers＇ health, which will not only be beneficialto improve the farmers＇ participation rate but also to reduce the income gap between urban and rural residents.
