In order to improve the hydrophilicity of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) ultrafiltration (UF) membrane, this study first prepares a new type of PVDF hybrid ultrafiltration membrane with nanometer zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) and nanometer titania (TiO2) particles in various mass proportions by phase in- version method, then characterizes and tests the structure of both the pure PVDF membrane and the PVDF hybrid membrane by SEM, contact angel goniometer, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X- Ray diffractometer system (XRD), and thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), and at last investigates the effects of nanometer particles addition and the different mass proportions of two kinds of nanometer parti- cles on the permeation performance of the hybrid membrane. The results show that the hybrid membrane water flux is 1.43 times as much as that of pure PVDF membrane when 1% nanometer particles addition with a mass proportion of ZrO2 and TiO2 of 1 : 1 are applied. The addition of the nanometer particles plays a positive role in improving the hydrophilicity of PVDF hybrid membrane and enhances its thermostability at a certain degree.
