摘　　要：开化墓群位于山西省太原市晋源区罗城街道开化村东北，地处汾河西畔的太原西山东麓丘陵地带，东南距晋阳古城约3．5公里，西北距开化寺蒙山大佛约2．2公里．此区域是北齐时期晋阳古城遗址的宗教祭祀区和墓葬区（图一）。2012年8月至2013年6月，为配合太原市基本建设，The Kaihua Cemetery located to the northeast of Kaihua Village under the jurisdiction of the Luocheng Subdistrict Office in Jinyuan District, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province was on the west bank of the Fen River in the eastern foothills of the Xishan Mountain in Taiyuan City. From August 2012 to June 2013, focused excavations on the Kaihua Cemetery were conducted jointly by the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology and other institutions. Of the 47 tombs excavated, the majority are burials of the Han and Northern Qi Dynasties. The types of tombs of the Han Dynasty included earthen pit tombs and earthen cave tombs. Artifacts unearthed are mostly pottery. All of the tombs of the Northern Qi Dynasty were vaulted earthen cave tombs with different numbers of ventilation shafts, the artifacts unearthed from which included pottery wares, figurines, epitaphs, etc. The archaeological work is a large-scale focused excavation of the tombs of the Western Han, Eastern Han and Northern Qi Dynasties near Xishan Mountain. It provided physical data for our systemic understanding on the funeral customs and population composition of the ancient residents in the of the Xishan Mountain area in Jinyuan District.
