摘　　要：索尔·贝娄的代表作《赫索格》中同名主人公复杂的伦理身份导致他不得不面临与身份相对应的多种伦理选择,然而无论当他面对哪一种伦理选择时,多重的身份必然使他陷于伦理困境。赫索格的婚姻伦理身份、职业身份、族裔身份的建构过程交织在一起,相互之间发生矛盾冲突,导致他的生活中出现伦理秩序的混乱,使他难以做出伦理选择。赫索格最终确认了自己的犹太幸存者身份,无论从历史的纬度还是哲学的思辨角度来看,犹太幸存者都肩负着深沉的道德责任。赫索格最终从伦理困境中摆脱出来,做出正确的伦理选择。In Saul Bellow＇s masterpiece Herzog, the protagonist Herzog＇s complex ethical identities present to him a good variety of ethical choices. No matter which choice he makes, the various identities cause him to face dilemmas as well as ethical confusion, thus leading to his paradoxical situation. Herzog＇s ethical identities involve his marriages, profession, and ethnicity, which conflict with each other, produce chaos to the ethical order and throw Herzog into a predicament. Owing to the contradiction between the ethical order and ethical behavior, the identity malposition, and the identity crisis, Herzog finds himself in a predicament, but he fmally realizes and affirms his own identity as a Jewish survivor. Viewed from the perspectives of both history and philosophy, Jewish survivors shoulder heavy ethical responsibilities. In the end, it is fortunate that Herzog escapes from his ethical dilemmas and makes the right ethical choice.
