Objective To compare the correlation between age and vestibular function among military pilots. Methods 340 healthy male pilots undergoing recuperation training at a certain aviation medical identification training center were selected to be as the test objects, every ten years as an age group, and all objects were divided into three age groups of 20-years old group, 30-years old group, and 40-years old group.VTS-O electric chair with a speed of 60-120°/s and an electronic stopwatch and a head support attached to the chair back that could control the swing angle was adopted to conduct the test, taking the average anti rotation time value. Results The average anti rotation time value of the three groups of pilots were(19.34 ±7.2)s for the 20-years old group; (17.33 ± 6.8)s for 30-years old group; (18.43 ± 4.7)s for the 40-years old group.One-way analysis of variance(ANOVA) was adopted to analyze the average anti rotation time value of the three groups, and the differences had no statistical significance (P 〉 0.05). Conclusion Along with the increase of the age, the anti rotation time of the pilots has no significant decline, which indicates that the vestibular function of the pilots doesn't obviously decline with the increase of age.
