Objective.. To observe and analyze the therapeutic effects of Vitamin B12 combined with metformin on type 2 diabetes patients and influence on homocysteine level. Methods.. A total of 92 cases of type 2 diabetes were selected in the First Hospital of Baoding for treatment from October 2014 to April 2014 were selected and randomly divided into control group (46 cases) and observation group (46 cases). Patients were treated by metformin in control group. Patients were treated by Vita- min B12 combined with metformin in observation group. Finally, patient outcomes, as well as Vitamin B12 and homocysteine in patients before and after treatment were analyzed. Results~ Vitamin B12 levels of observation group were significantly higher than control group 1 month, 6 months, and 1 year after treatment(P〈0.05). Homocysteine levels of control group were sig- nificantly higher than observation group when patients were treated after 1 month, 6 months, and 1 year (P〈0.05). Conclu- sion: Vitamin Bl2 combined with metformin in type 2 diabetes treatment, can significantly inhibit increase of homocysteine showing great effects on this disease, and it's worthy of application in large scale.
