摘　　要：佛山木版年画蕴含广府文化特有的元素,反映出独特的文化内涵,是形象展示广府人风尚习俗和人文精神的艺术奇葩。木版年画主要在年节等民俗活动中张贴,因此其主要功能是"祈年祝颂"。从题材上来看,所蕴含的文化内涵大致体现在庆丰祝颂、避邪趋吉、祈财求子、道德教化、神灵崇拜、宗教信仰、娱乐游艺、民间故事取材等方面。从艺术表达方式看,佛山木版年画擅用具体图像替代抽象概念,巧用象征,寓理于像,运用谐音、语义双关等修辞手段表现丰富的文化内涵。深入解读其文化内涵,对做好佛山木版年画的保护及传承工作具有十分重要的意义。With specific elements of Cantonese culture, Foshan woodblock New Year pictures which reflect the unique cultural connotation, is the art epitome of the trend, convention, and the hu- man spirit of the Cantonese. Woodblock New Year pictures are mainly pasted during Spring Festival and folk activities. Therefore, it can be concluded that the woodblock New Year pictures could serve as the ＂pray and wish in the New Year＂. From the perspective of theme, the cultural connotation of the pictures reflected roughly in the following aspects： celebrating the harvest and making a good wish, avoiding evil and pursuing luek, praying for ehildren and wealth, moral education, worshiping the gods and spirits, religious belief, entertainment functions, folk stories and so on. And from the perspective of artistic expression, woodblock New Year pictures use specific images instead of abstract concept, use the symbols skillfully to contain philosophy in the images. Furthermore, by the use of homophony, semantic puns and other rhetoric devices, the pictures express abundant cultural conno- tations. Therefore, to make a deep interpretation of the woodblock New Year pictures have an impor- tant significance to their protection and inheritance.
