According to the problem lacking theoretical and practical basis on conservation tillage integrated into the intereropping system, field experiment was conducted to investigate the relationship between soil temperature and water consumption in wheat-maize intercropping system under reduced tillage retaining 25 cm stubble mulch to provide the theoretical cropping technical system. The results showed that soil basis for establishing efficient water-saving-interwater content of wheat-maize intercropping cornbined with standing stubble with reduced tillage increased by 2. 8%, 6.8% and 9. 9% compared with con- ventional intercropping, respectively, water consumption decreased by 2. 9 %, 4. 0% and 0. 9 %, respectively, soil temperature at the depth of 0~25 cm decreased by 0. 5%, 1.0% and 3. 9%, respectively. Meanwhile,it has a significantly positive correlation relationship between water consumption and soil temperature. Water consumption was significantly actively related to soil temperature indicating the integration of standing stubble with reduced tillage to intercropping system can reduce water consumption and increase soil content by decreasing soil temperature.
