ObjectiveTo investigate the fundamental sequences of MR enterography (MRE) and propose a foundation scan scheme for MRE. Methods Totally 15 patients underwent MRE with plain scan sequences of COR-SSFSE-ASSET, isotropic COR-LAVA-FLEX, AX-T2-PROPELLER, AX-LAVA-FLEX and DWI (b=800/1 000/1 500) as well as isotropic sequences of AX-LAVA-FLEX, AX-LAVA-XV and COR-LAVA-XV after augmentation. Two experienced radiologists applied double-blind method to evaluating images and values of the sequences and to determining the foundation scan scheme for MRE.Results Plain scan sequences of COR-SSFSE-ASSET, isotropic COR-LAVA-FLEX, AX-T2- PROPELLER and DWI (b =800) resulted in the best image quality. Diffusion sequence was of great value for assessing enteritis activity, and augmented sequences led to high-quality images to meet the requirements of clinical diagnosis.Conclosion Conventional MRE may involve in the plain scan sequences of COR-SSFSE-ASSET, isotropic COR-LAVA- FLEX, AX-T2-PROPELLER and DWI (b=800) as well as augmented sequences of AX-LAVA-FLEX, AX-LAVA-XV and COR-LAVA-XV.
