摘　　要：安东尼·高迪是西班牙加泰罗尼亚现代主义运动的杰出代表,谈高迪的建筑离不开"加泰罗尼亚身份"。他那"极端"的现代主义是对"现代性"的美学回应,是一场逆流而上的寻根之旅。他在精神与艺术的"林波之境"上下求索,通过加泰罗尼亚拱券技术和陶瓷马赛克材料与工艺的复兴、循环和再生造化定义了自己的"加泰罗尼亚身份"。An exceptionally idiosyncratic representative of the Catalan Modernisme, Antoni Gaudi＇s architecture is inevitably tied to a ＇Catalan identity＇. His ＇extreme＇ modernism may be regarded as a personal response to modernity, an emotionallycharged as well as earthbound journey against the stormy turn-of-the-century tide. Compared to his contemporary fellow architects, he made it further on his root-seeking journey. Searching in a spiritual and artistic limbo, Gaudf would eventually come to define his ＇Catalan identity＇ through his revival of the Catalan vault and original use of the trencadis, both of which in turn helped define Catalan architecture as we know it today.
