摘　　要："水塔之家"改造设计是一个小而复杂的建筑项目。从改造设计本体的角度,如何理解作为城市组织一部分的"小"与"复杂",以及建筑师如何选择与复杂性相适应的设计操作模式是理解这个作品的关键所在。从改造设计外部关联域的角度,这个项目涉及大众传媒策划下的建筑师空间实践尝试作为中国大陆项目运作新方式的特征,乃至节目本身所展现的当代中国住宅自我更新的政策尴尬问题。The Transformation Design of the Water Tower House is a small yet complex architectural project. The key of understanding this project from the perspective of the transformation design is to understand the ＇small＇ yet ＇complex＇ project as a part of the whole urban structure and how the architects choose the design and practice model that accommodated complexity. Meanwhile, from the perspective of related domains outside the transform design, this project exemplifies both the characteristics of architects＇ spatial practices under the plotting of mass media, which becomes a new project operating model in China's Mainland, and the shortcomings of policies concerning the renewal of China＇s housing that were exposed in the TV show.
