Synthesis of Glycol Monoethyl Ether and Glycol Diethyl Ether Using Ethylene Glycol and Ethanol with Heterogeneous Catalysts

摘  要:乙二醇乙醚具有优良的性能而被广泛用于油漆、化工等行业,传统生产方法是环氧乙烷加成法,随着煤制乙二醇工业化,以乙二醇为原料制备乙二醇醚具有价格低、安全等优势。为了实现固相催化乙二醇制备乙二醇乙醚,分别以硅胶,Ti O_2,MCM-41,SAPO-11和HZSM-5为载体,以硫酸铵为改性剂,采用浸渍法制备了系列催化剂,对比发现HZSM-5做载体较好。以单因素法研究了硅铝比、改性剂浓度对催化性能的影响,结果表明0.5 mol·L^(-1)硫酸铵浸渍硅铝比为25:1的HZSM-5催化效果最好;以正交实验法优化了反应温度、反应压力、反应时间,结果表明最优反应条件为反应温度180℃,反应压力7 MPa,反应时间为4 h。在该条件下,乙二醇转化率能达到69.17%,乙二醇乙醚选择性达到72.91%,乙二醇二乙醚的选择性为25.13%,乙二醇醚的总产率67.81%。Glycol ethyl ethers possess many excellent properties and are widely used in paint industry and chemical industry. Traditionally, glycol ethers are synthesized via addition reaction of epoxy ethane. With the industrialization of ethylene glycol preparation from coal, synthesis of glycol ethers from ethylene glycol has advantages in price and safety. Silica gel, MCM-41, SAPO-11 and HZSM-5 were used as supports of catalysts and ammonium sulfate was used as a modifying agent by impregnation in order to synthesize glycol ethyl ethers from ethylene glycol. The results show that HZSM-5 is a more suitable support. The effects of Si/Al ratio and modifier concentration were investigated by a single factor experiment method, and the results show that HZSM-5 with n(Si O2)/n(Al2O3) =25 and modified by 0.5 mol×L^-1 ammonium sulfate is the best catalyst. In order to obtain optimal reaction conditions, orthogonal experiments were proposed. The optimal reaction conditions were found as: glycol and ethanol molar ratio 1:4 and 7 MPa pressure at 180℃ for 4 h. Under these conditions, the conversion of glycol is 69.17% and the selectivity of glycol ether and glycol diethyl ether are 72.91% and 25.13% respectively with glycol ethers yield of 67.81%.
