关于4--字段不具备检索功能的若干证据研究

摘　　要：4--字段是否具有检索功能,在图书馆编目工作中存在着争议。虽然认为4--字段具有检索功能的部分同仁在理论与实践方面找到了用来支持自己观点的一些证据,但这些证据既不充分,更不可靠。从4--字段的指标符设置情况、子字段及其所包含的内容、记录连接作用、"4--款目连接块"下的举例说明及520字段设置的意义来看,4--字段不可能具有检索功能。There＇s still controversy in the library cataloging filed over whether 4-- field has a retrieval function. Though some peers claim that they＇ve found support evidence in theory and practice for 4-- field＇s retrieving function, the evidence is neither sufficient nor reliable. This article brings these perspectives to prove that 4-- field has no retrieval function： 4-- field indicator setting, sub field and its content and the record and connection function, examples under＂ 4-- entry connecting block＂ and the significance of 520 field setting.
