摘　　要：托马斯·哈代在《德伯家的苔丝》中巧妙运用天文类自然意象、地理类自然意象、植物类自然意象和动物类自然意象来塑造立体的人物形象,诠释人物的性格特点,揭示人物的命运走向。自然意象的恰当运用有效地体现了人与自然的共通性,将自然作为情感表达的载体,不仅使自然万物鲜活生动也使得人物情感可触可视。Thomas Hardy was in virtue of astronomical, geographical, floristic and creatural natural images to shape the vivid figures, display the different personalities and reveal people＇s destiny tendency in Tess of the D＇UrberviUes. The appropriate application of natural images can indicate the intercommunity between human beings and nature. Take nature as a carrier of ＇emotional expression not only make the creatures bright vivid but also concretize characters＇ emotion.
