摘　　要：土司制度是传统中国多民族政治文化关系的集中表现,具有丰富而复杂的历史内容,其现代性问题同样是近代以来中国近代国家转型过程中的历史课题,同时在当下社会也具有重要的学术价值和现实意义。它不仅可以丰富和扩展土司学研究内容与对象,同时可以厘清诸多具体理论问题及其学科价值取向。Tusi system （chieftain system） reflected political and cultural relationships of multi ethnic groups in traditional China with rich and complicated historical contents. Its modernity is also a historical issue in China＇ s transformation into a modern country. At the same time, it is of important academic value and realistic significance in the curren time. It can not only enrich and expand the content and subject of Tusi studies, but also can clarify many specific theoretical issues as well as its discipline value orientation.
