摘　　要：一国之高等教育,是以培养从事国家治理与建设的高级专门人才为基本职能的社会性组织,而作为其灵魂的"核心价值观体系"(以下简称"核心价值观")涉及并体现于功能定位(或基本属性)、价值取向、职能目标、教育体制模式等四个方面。循此一组问题,探讨今天中国高等教育之灵魂与核心价值观是十分必要的。The higher education of one nation is an important social organization aiming at cultivating the senior professional talents who will engage in the national governance and construction. The core values system,the soul of higher education,is involved and presented in the following four aspects-functional orientation（ basic attribute）,value orientation,functional objectives and educational system. Above all,it is necessary to discuss the soul of the higher education in China and the core values.
