摘　　要：ECIP,即在出版过程中实现中文图书的"自动编目",处理对象是图书的印前电子文本,也就是图书在版编目的数字化和网络化。本文通过对中美两国ECIP发展历程的对比分析,概括总结了我国ECIP的研究现状,明确指出在我国ECIP计划实施过程中可能遇到的问题,并在此基础上提出了简化字段、加强沟通和完善标准三条相应的对策。ECIP, namely, to achieve ＂automatic cataloging＂ of Chinese books in the publishing process, deals with electronic texts before printing. In other words, it is the digitization and networking of cataloging. By comparing the development process of ECIP in China and United States, this paper summarizes the research status of ECIP, and clearly points out that three problems ECIP program may encounter. It then puts forward the corresponding countermeasures： simplifying fields, strengthening communication and improving standards.
