摘　　要：纽约现代艺术博物馆从1929年成立以来就致力于现代艺术的展示、收藏与研究,并在1932年成立了建筑与设计部。20世纪30年代到60年代间,纽约现代艺术博物馆通过举办设计展览与竞赛、出版设计书籍、召开设计研讨会等设计活动,形成了该馆对现代主义设计的主要认识,从而回答了"何谓现代设计"这一问题。纽约现代艺术博物馆在现代主义设计美国化的过程中发挥着重要的作用,对世界现代设计史的发展产生了一定的影响。The Museum of modern art in New York was founded in 1929,and it dedicated to collect,research and display on modern art.The Department of Architecture and Design was founded in 1932.Between the 1930 s to the 1960 s,MOMA organized design exhibitions and competitions, publication design books and hold design conference,shaped the the main ideas of modernism in design of MOMA. The museum of modern art in New York had played an important role in the process of modernism in design Americanization, and influenced the development of world modern design history.
