摘　　要：《持家》是美国当代著名小说家玛丽琳·鲁宾逊的处女作,是一部关于"地方"主题的小说。小说中的"房子"具有非常丰富的思想内涵和深刻的象征意义,呈现出"地方性"特征。指骨镇的居民严格区分房子的"内"与"外",这表征着人与自然以及男性与女性在"地方"上的对立。鲁宾逊在《持家》中主张超越房子"内""外"的藩篱,从而解构这种二元对立的思维模式。通过展示希薇和茹丝的新型持家模式,鲁宾逊勾勒了一幅人与自然以及两性之间和谐相处的蓝图,并且希望人类能够在"地方"中实现这一蓝图。Housekeeping, the debut novel of Marilynne Robinson, is a novel about the theme of place. The image of houses in the novel is characterized by its placeness with rich and deep symbolic meanings. People in Fingerbone, the name of a town in the novel, distinguish between the interior and exterior of a house, which symbolizes the op- position between males and females as well as humans and nature in place. Robinson strives to deconstruct such dualistic way of thinking by transcending the barriers between the interior and exterior of a house. By dramatizing Sylvie and Ruth＇s new housekeeping approaches, Robinson expresses her ideal to recover the harmony between males and fe- males as well as humans and nature, and thinks that the ideal can be realized in ＂place.＂ Keywords.
