摘  要:For three to five days each year, a traditional Water- Splashing Festival is celebrated by Dai, Achang, Deang, Blang and Va nationalities. It is generally held in mid- April on the solar calendar, June on the Dai Calendar, which is not only auspicious but gives the weather a chance to warm up since the festivities involve people splashing, dumping, pouring and tossing massive quantities of water onto each other. Water is the symbol of the festival and also its means for bringing blessings and warding off ill fortune and disease.The annual Torch Festival,a Yi nationality tradition,has a long history among the linguistic branch of Yi such as Naxi,Hani,Lisu,Lahu and Jino.The festival has been celebrated since Han and Tang dynasties.Generally held during 24-26th days of the sixth lunar month,it features a night procession in the wilderness with lit torches.About a dozen Torch Festival legends exist,the most popular connected with the hero Zhaka,
