摘　　要：中西文化的冲突与融合是华裔美国文学中一个常见的书写主题。它与众多华裔美国人的"美国梦"有着很深的文化联系。小说《荣誉与责任》通过丁国凡和丁凯父子的故事,集中体现了华裔美国人的"孝文化"与"美国梦"之间的冲突与融合,它对华裔美国人成功实现"美国梦"提供了很好的借鉴。Conflict and fusion is a common writing theme in the Chinese American Literature.It has deep cultural ties with many Chinese Americans＇ ＂American Dream＂.The novel Honor and Dutyfocuses on the conflict and fusion of＂Filiel Piety＂and＂American Dream＂of Chinese Americans by the story about the father Ding Guofan and the son Ding Kai,which accurately provides a good reference for the realization of＂American Dream＂of many Chinese Americans.
