摘　　要：20110789 Fu Zhengxiang(Institute of Earthquake Science,CEA,Beijing 100036,China);Lü Xiaojian Comparative Discussion of the Abnormal Low Slip Rate on the Active Fault of the Wenchuan MS 8.0 Earthquake(Earthquake,ISSN1000-3274,CN11-1893/P,30(2),2010,p.1-9,3 illus.,2 tables,21 refs.)Key words:active faults,slip rates,Sichuan Province This paper comparatively discusses the active fault slip rates of 8 great intra-continental shallow thrust earthquakes occurred in the East Asia Triangular Seismic Region based on the collected slip rate data.Preliminary analysis shows that the average vertical slip or shortening rates on the shallow thrust faults are less than 12 mm/a in the region.The great Wenchuan MS 8.0 earthquake of May 12,2008,Sichuan Province,China,occurred in the Longmenshan active fault with abnormal low slip rate(0.2～1.0 mm/a).The relationship between earthquake magnitude
