摘　　要：1895-1899年是严复从事报刊实践活动最活跃的几年,也是严复思想影响成型和上升的关键时期。这一时期的报刊实践活动基本上奠定了严复在我国思想史文化史上地位之基础。但结合时代背景,具体考察严复的个人生活遭际、文化结构、政治诉求以及经营报刊的经济收益,可知严复从事报刊实践活动的初衷并没有超出一个传统士大夫的思想之囿。其思想并没有呈现出前期激进、后期保守的变动讯息,相反却可看出他反对无序革命、坚持渐进改良的思想。The period between 1895 and 1899 was the most flourishing years of Yan Fu's experiment of newspapers,and the essential stage for the shaping and development of Yan Fu' s thought.Yan' s newspaper experiments in this period primarily laid the foundation of his status in China's intellectual and cultural history.However,under the background of his times and through a research of his personal experience,educational background,political pursuit,and economic earnings from the running of newspapers,one can see that Yan' s original intention was nothing beyond the mind of a traditional scholar-bureaucrat.There wasn't any information about his revolutionary idea of early period and conservative idea of later period.Nevertheless,one can observe his opposition to disorderly revolution and insistence of progressive reformation.
