再论历史学的实践性

摘　　要：历史学的基本问题之一是它与现实的关系。本文通过对中外历史学发展脉络的梳理,以及对历史学学科特质和内在逻辑的分析,指出历史学知识之树常青的可能性,不仅来自于不同时代人们对往昔岁月历史残片的缀合,也来自于对现实问题的领悟和回答,来自于将平凡的历史知识在思想上的升华,从而一切历史既是当代的和思想的历史,也是实践的历史。历史实践性的主要目标不是以具体的知识直接服务于今天,而是用历史智慧启蒙人类的心灵,提高人类的判断力和道德感。这种"无用之用"是历史学的最大之"用",是历史学实践性价值的最终体现。One of the basic problems of history is about its relationship with reality. On the basis of the review of the development of history at home and abroad and the analysis of the characteristics and the internal logic of history as a discipline,this article points out that the everlasting vitality of the knowledge of history comes from not only the rejoining of the historical pieces of the past by people of different generations,but also the comprehension and answer to the current problems,and the upgrade of common historical knowledge in thought. Therefore,all history is contemporary history,the history of thought,and also practical history. The main aim of the practicality of history is not to serve our society directly with specific knowledge,but to enlighten human beings with the wisdom of history and thus to improve their judgment and moral sense. This futility of utility is exactly the greatest utility of history and also the ultimate expression of the value of the practicality of history.
