摘　　要：工具书《辞海》的编委之一舒新城是我国著名出版家、教育家,通过对他一生中各个不同历史时期的读书历程和他在从事文化、出版、教育事业近半个世纪中各个时期出版的各种教育论著,展现出阅读与书籍对他的影响及他对图书馆事业所作的贡献。As one of the editorial board members of reference book ＂Cihai＂, Shu Xincheng is China＇s famous publisher and education- ist, the reading process in different historical periods of his life and the educational treatises published by him when he was engaged in culture, publication and education for nearly half a century showed the influence of reading and books to him and his contribution to library cause. 11 refs.
