摘　　要：历史年代学家刘坦,是一位民间学者,天津武清王庆坨镇人。他终生探讨历史学,在星岁纪年的研究上绝学特立,受到中国科学院郭沫若、竺可桢的重视。1957年科学出版社出版的他的《中国古代之星岁纪年》一书,至今仍是这一问题的唯一专著。这部卓越的著作,特别清理了西汉末刘歆的纪年体系,揭示其造伪行为,指出历代学者对于中国之星岁纪年皆认识偏颇、讹误,对此一一廓清,取得破解千古迷茫的成就。Liu Tan was a folk historian known for his chronostratigraphy. Living all his life in his hometown of Wangqingtuo in Wuqing County of Tianjin,he devoted all his time and energy to the study of historical chronology and astrological ephemeris. During his lifetime,his achievement was highly acclaimed by Guo Moruo and Zhu Kezhen（ Coching Chu）. His monograph titled Astrological Ephemeris in Ancient China,published by the China Science Press in 1957,exposed the forgery of Liu Xin at the end of the Western Han Dynasty and pointed out the biases and errors of scholarly interpretations in succeeding dynasties, an achievement that still maintains its breakthrough status up until today.
