摘　　要：小齿猬Mesechinus miodon,分布于陕西榆林地区沿毛乌素沙漠一线。自该种被Thomas(1908)发现以来,其分类地位一直受到国内外学者的关注。作者在陕西境内相继采到16只小齿猬标本,根据外形、头骨、牙齿等特征,对其分类地位做一讨论,支持Thomas等将其作为独立种并归入林猬属的观点。The small-toothed forest hedgehogs （Mesechinus miodon） distributed in Yulin, Shaanxi along the Mu Su desert. Its classification remains controversial since this species was first found in 1908 by Thomas. Through integrated study on 16 individual specimen collected from Yulin, it was showed that those individuals are Mesechinus rniodon according to the significant morphological char- acteristics in skeleton shape, craniodental and dental measurements. The finding supports the result made by Thomas that the local hedgehogs miodon is an independent species.
