摘 要:海洋在诗剧中有多重含义。民众视野下的海洋是原始的海洋,是大众膜拜的海洋,充满了神性色彩;工程师和张福白眼里的海洋是科学理性的海洋、物质文明的海洋,是人类征服的对象。两种海洋观在同一片海域发生冲突,它寄寓有作家对现代文明的思考,冲突所致的悲剧反映了诗剧强调二者应该对话。诗剧批判现代文明,从情感上认可民间海洋的神性、敬畏海洋,这是历史的先声。Ocean has a multi-faceted significance in the verse drama. In the eyes of the common populace, ocean is something primitive that the masses worship and that is full of mysterious colours. But, in the eyes of the engineer and Zhang Fubai, it is something that is scientific and rational, one that is of a material civilization that mankind sets out to conquer. These two concepts of the ocean come into conflict in the same maritime space, which contains the author's reflections on modern civilization, and the tragedy that the conflict leads to reflects the fact that these two ought to enter into a dialogue. The verse drama, therefore, is a critique of modern civilization, in that it, emotionally speaking, recognizes the sacredness of the ocean that is held in awe by the common people, a herald of history.
