摘  要:大众化以来,高校大面积更名是中国高等教育特有的现象。文章采用统计分析法,对944所本科高校1999~2015年间的更名情况进行了统计,发现607所高校有过更名经历。研究表明,我国高校更名呈现阶段性高峰现象,中西部地区的高校,尤其是地方普通师范院校和工科性行业院校最热衷于更名,并偏好向大区域、综合型校名更改。从双轨制的视角来看,我国高校大面积更名既源于强势政府下的制度环境,又源于有限的高等教育市场竞争。在现有体制下,更名的确能够给高校带来招生就业等方面的短期收益,但却未必能够使学校从此走上健康发展之路。要阻止高校更名乱象的恶性蔓延,高校需转变发展方式,走内涵式发展道路,其前提则是高等教育宏观治理的转型。It is a universal phenomenon for China's universities to change their names after enrollment expansion of universities. With the help of statistical analysis method, this paper analyzes the name changes of 944 undergraduate universities from 1999 to 2015, and finds that 607 universities have ever changed their names. According to the research, the phenomenon of universities change their names has achieved a peak at certain times. The universities in the central and west part of China, especially local ordinary normal colleges and the engineering colleges, are full of enthusiasm about changing their names, and they prefer names which indicate that they cover larger areas or they are comprehen sive universities. From the perspective of semi planned and semi market system, this phenomenon originates from not only the institutional environment under authoritative government, but also the limited market competition of higher education. Under the existing system, changing names could bring colleges and universities immediate interests in the aspect of enrolling new students and obtaining employment. However, it can never guarantee that those universities will embark on a road of healthy development. In order to put an end to the changes of colleges and universities' names, colleges and universities should transform the model of development towards a connotative development model. The premise lies in the transformation of higher education macro management mode.
