摘　　要：作为对美国大工业时期移民生活的血泪书写,《屠场》再现了不同价值取向之间的碰撞,以约吉斯为代表的移民家庭在异域文化冲突中付出了巨大的代价。择取《屠场》中约吉斯一家所经历的大事件——家族的婚礼、家族的求生以及家族的解体,结合克拉克洪-斯乔贝克价值取向理论中的相关维度分析这三桩家族大事,从文化差异的角度解读约吉斯家族命运浮沉的根源,从而能够洞悉美国社会进步主义时期深刻的人文危机。A tearful record of immigrants＇ life in the American progressive era, The Jungle presents the conflicts between different value orientations. The immigrant family, represented by Jurgis Rudkus, paid dearly in the wake of culture shock. By analyzing the three significant events in the immigrant family - the wedding, the struggle for survival and the disintegration of their collateral family - this paper sets out to interpret the root causes of the ups and downs of the family and gain a deeper understanding of the humanistic crisis of the American progressive era.
