Objective In order to investigate the variations of Th17, IL-17A and IL-17F in peripheral blood of the patients with different severity atopic dermatitis (AD) and explore their significances. Methods The percentage of Thl7 cells in peripheral blood of patients with AD were determined by flow cytometry, the levels of IL-17A, IL-17F were detected by ELISA, meanwhile, in healthy adults as controls. Results The percentage of Th17 ceils and the level of IL-17A were increased in patients with the mild AD in comparison with healthy controls (P〈0.05). The percentage of Th17 cells and the level of IL-17A were significantly higher in patients with the moderate AD than those of healthy controls (P〈0.01). The level of IL-17F significantly increased in patients with the severe AD in comparison with in healthy controls (P〈0.05). The percentage of Tb17 cells and the level of IL-17A were higher in patients with the moderate AD than the mild AD (P〈0.05). The percentage of Th 17 cells and the level of IL-17A were higher in patients with the severe AD in comparison with that the moderate AD (P〈0.05). Conclusion The Th17 cell, IL-17A and IL-17F may play an important role in the onset, development of patients with AD.
