摘　　要：Ichiyou Higuchi was a legendary woman writer during the reign of MEIJI in Japan. Although her works are difficult to understand, they have been quite popular up to the present. There are various opinions toward her and her works. The article proposes from another point of view that the mental qualities and literary status of her and her works, as being in the crevice among two or more different tides, have such features as inter-space, transition and vacillation which are the essence of her and her works.Ichiyou Higuchi was a legendary woman writer during the reign of MEIJI in Japan.
