现实主义再创作:斯坦贝克小说的“影坛三杰”

摘　　要：斯坦贝克的许多优秀小说被成功地改编和拍摄为电影,其中获奖最多和影响比较突出的有《人鼠之间》《愤怒的葡萄》和《伊甸园之东》3部影片。这3部电影作品分别通过不同的角度和题材,塑造典型化角色,以现实主义的手段聚焦斯坦贝克关注的困窘,展示了对原作媒介的跨越及其悲剧意识小说主题模式的再提炼;改编作品还对原故事叙事时空进行了集中式重构,在电影的影响上体现出电影作品对小说及社会语境的映射性,完成了从不同风格的小说到现实主义风格电影的集体转身,实现了小说与电影的精彩握手,为诠释斯坦贝克悲剧意识作品所具备的特殊魅力提供了极大的空间与可能。Many a novel written by John Steinbeck has been successfully turned into movies,among which, the most influential ones are O f Mice and Men The Grapes o f Wrath and Easto f Eden. Furnished with the touches of realism, these movies adapted from novels transcendedthe original paper forms in terms of media as well as styles, renovated and exercisedembodiments of the literary themes via the sculpture of the film roles and the reconstruction ofthe narration of the stories; not only accomplished the protrusion toward the social context, butalso achieved the handshake between novel and movie, thus offered a reasonable room andpotentialities for probing the interpretation of the magic and charm equipped with Steinbeck’sworks.
