摘　　要：共和末期罗马政局动荡不安,派系斗争频发,身处这场政治漩涡中的庞培无疑扮演了一个极为重要的角色。纵观这一时期的庞培不难看出,他始终游离于平民派与贵族派之间。最终,得到平民派支持的恺撒通过征服高卢实力大增,严重威胁到庞培的地位。庞培与贵族派结成同盟,成为罗马共和末期派系斗争的牺牲品。It was a turbulent time that clique struggles had frequently occurred at the end of the Roman Republic. Pompey, who was drawn into the vortex of politics, haddefinitely played an important role in it. It was not that hard to see that Pompey was always wavering between the populates and optimates. Eventually, Caesar, who got the support of the populares, had greatly reinforced his strength during the Gallic War, which had threatened the status of Pompey. Pompey chose to develop a closer relationship with the senate, and finally became a victim of the clique struggles at the end of the Roman Republic.
