摘　　要：俄罗斯作家果戈里曾说：＂建筑是世界的年鉴,当歌曲和传说都缄默的时候,只有它还在说话。＂可以说,建筑是一座城市发展最好的记录者与传承者。济南这里不仅有古城传统的民居和街区,更有东西方文化交融碰撞的产物——形形色色的西式建筑,它们虽历经百年风雨却仍然气度不凡地矗立在济南的各个角落,如年轮般回旋着曾经的光辉岁月。With 4,600 years of history of human civilization and 2,600 years of history of city existence,Jinan is a noted historic and cultural city and also abundant in stories.Aside from the traditional residences and streets,it has a variety of western buildings manifesting the coordination of the western and eastern cultures.These buildings of distinguished demeanor are scattering in the city,reminding people of the glorious past.The commercial port area reveals an atmosphere which is entirely different from that of the old downtown.There are nine classically-styled western buildings erected at the intersection of Wei'er Road and Jing'er Road,including the sites of the office of Shandong Postal Authority,German Consulate,GermanAsian Bank,Jinan Branch of Bank of Communications,Minsheng Bank,German Clinic,Xiaoguanghan Cinema and Jinan Branch of Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank.The buildings with their silent language convey to us the tales of the age spanning over a century.The Sacred Heart Cathedral was constructed since 1901.The building project was financed with funds from the indemnity that was stipulated by the Boxer Protocol.Covering an area of 1650 square meters,the basic layout of this Gothic Revival church is a Latin cross with two tall towers.As a typical of Gothic church,it has pointed arches,ribbed vaults and flying buttresses made of blue tiles and stones.It is the largest Cathedral church in Jinan and a large one in North China.The church has become the witness of sincere love as it is a popular wedding venue in the city.
